MEET OUR TEAM

John is President and Managing Director of Island Realty Ltd., Clearwater Development Ltd. and Atlantic Hotel Ltd. He is responsible for the overall management of the companies, including real estate and project development. Projects currently in progress, Azura Bermuda and Nautilus, together represent roughly $100MM in developed value. Each of these projects is based on a proprietary “condominium hotel model” supported by a high level of resort and hotel amenities. Hotel Residence sales at both and Azura and Nautilus have been highly successful to date.

John has 40 years of experience in the financing, development and marketing of various forms of real estate, with a specialty in hospitality-related resort residential real estate. He has been involved in projects in the United States, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. Over the past 20 years, he has been responsible, as Developer or as Senior Project Executive, for the creation of over $425MM of luxury resort residential real estate – by a wide margin, the largest such amount ever achieved in Bermuda.

John has a degree in Economics from Connecticut College in New London, CT, and studied real estate finance and legal structures at NYU in NY, NY. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Bermuda.

As a Partner at Island Realty, Christian touches every aspect of the business. His primary functions include finance, accounting oversight, underwriting, and investor reporting.

Christian started his real estate career as an analyst for the Newmark Capital Markets Team in Washington, DC. During his tenure at Newmark, Christian was the lead analyst for thirty-two transactions totaling $1.3 billion of debt and equity finance closings. Following Newmark, Christian was a part of the finance team at Hoffman & Associates, a developer best known for the 3.2 million square foot, Wharf development on Washington, DC’s waterfront. During his time at Hoffman, Christian worked extensively on debt and equity financings, investor reporting, and acquisition underwriting. His work at Hoffman touched every deal in the company’s portfolio, including the Wharf. Christian left Hoffman & Associates in July 2021 to become a Partner at Island Realty. His development experience in Bermuda dates backs to the acquisition of the Azura project in 2016.

Christian holds a B.S.B.A from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. He is an avid surfer and gardener outside of Island Realty.

Jonathan is a well-versed and resourceful real estate investor and developer with over a 20-year track record of driving superior results for companies. He is the Head of Development for Island Realty, a real estate investment, management, and development company based in Bermuda. 

Jonathan has a business strategy background and specializes in driving the union between crafting strategy and generating business results. He brings extensive experience managing engagements in a number of industries, including automotive, tourism & hospitality, technology, luxury retail and hotels both on a national and global scale. He has worked with over 100+ companies, including many of the world’s most admired brands – PepsiCo, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, L’Oreal, Mercedes-Benz, Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and United. 

Jonathan holds a dual business degree from Schulich School of Business and HEC Paris. An avid climber and adventurer, he has traveled to over 100 countries and loves the pursuit of travel.

Will is the Director of Project Management for Island Realty across all Projects. He is responsible for developing the Project Brief through the Key Stages of Design & Engineering Development, Tender & Estimating, and Project Delivery. Will has worked in Bermuda since 2009 and directly on the Azura Bermuda & Nautilus Development since 2018.

Since arriving in 2009, Will has worked across a variety of sectors, including tourism, industrial, high end residential, and commercial. Will bring a wealth of experience in Bermuda and navigates these factors to ensure delivery achieves the three main objectives: Quality, Cost, and Time. Prior to 2009, Will worked in the UK as a Design Manager and Project Manager on several significant projects in the City of London. Will is detail oriented and enjoys getting into the design elements to ensure fully developed plans are executed well on site.

Will holds an Urban Planning degree from University of California at San Diego. This qualification is bolstered with a PMP certificate from the University College, London. Will married with two children. When not being husband or dad, Will is an avid skier and cyclist which is really just for fun now that he’s over 50!

Part of the leadership team since 2020, Betsy is a licensed real estate agent who works on all aspects of sales, marketing and operations for Island Realty. Over the course of the Azura and Nautilus developments, she continues to act as a key point of contact for new purchasers to support their needs and seamlessly navigate them through all the key milestones – from the initial sales & purchase agreement all the way through to handing over the keys to their beautiful new hotel residence.

Betsy has worked as a senior manager in many prestigious companies, including the literary and talent agency, Curtis Brown Group, where she co-led a large international sales team based out of London. She has over 20 years of experience in change management, sales, and marketing.

Betsy holds a B.A. in English & French Literature from Duke University. She also studied at Radcliffe College in Cambridge Mass., University College London, and Université of Paris Sorbonne. Originally from Philadelphia, Betsy moved to Bermuda in 2014 with her husband and two children – and can attest to the fantastic people and quality of life on the island.

Hilary works on all aspects of sales and marketing for Island Realty, bringing a well-rounded and strategic approach to every client interaction. She combines market insight, business acumen, and a personal touch to help buyers navigate Bermuda’s property landscape, focusing on Hotel Development Real Estate Sales.

Originally from New York City, Hilary has lived in Bermuda for over 20 years and has been a licensed real estate agent since 2019. Before joining Island Realty, she managed sales for The Residences at The St. Regis Bermuda where she gained valuable experience in branded luxury properties.

Hilary began her professional career in marketing, holding various positions in both NYC and Bermuda. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Art History.

Outside of her professional life, Hilary enjoys a lively household with her three children, a dog, and several chickens. In her free time, she’s an avid runner who loves exploring Bermuda’s scenic routes and staying active outdoors.
